Beyonce’ Wedding Dress Revealed!

18 Nov

Beyonce’s 2008 nuptials to entrepreneur and mogul Jay-Z was a guarded event. The media had no information on the details of the wedding which took place in their New York Apartment. In her new released video “I was here” live at Roseland Ballroom which is one of my favorite songs on her album, Beyonce shows a clip of her wedding dress. She has let us in a personal part of her life which was never shown publicly.

In other parts of the video, she has shown other accomplishments throughout her life before and during her career which were huge milestones. She has met Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Oprah Winfrey, her days as a Destiny’s Child group member and of course the big reveal of her baby bump at the MTV awards are all shown in the video. Beyonce’ has many remarkable events throughout her life and one of my favorites that will always stick with me was when she sang “At Last” for President Barack Obama & first lady Michelle’s first dance at the inaugural dinner.

Beyonce’s wedding dress is absolutely gorgeous and I love the video with all the special moments throughout her life. When watching the video it shows how precious childhood moments are and how much her parents embraced her talent from an early age. Take a look at the photo below and the video which is absolutely moving.

Nuclear Wintour: The Fashion Godmother!

5 Oct

If you are a fashionista, you should know your fashion history! British born Anna Wintour is known as the godmother of American fashion and the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine. Her career in Fashion Journalism began at two British magazines. She is known for her eye for fashion and her support for young designers. Her demanding personality has earned her the nickname “Nuclear Wintour” and even an inspiration of a book written by former personal assistant, Lauren Weisberger, roman a’ clef, A devil Wears Prada, which was later made into a successful film starring Meryl Streep and Miranda Priestly.

Her father, Charles Wintour is the editor of London Evening Standard. Anna became interested in fashion as a teenager in which her father consulted her on how to make the newspaper relevant to the youth of era. She has constantly used the channel of magazines to shape the fashion industry but was always subjected to debate on her particular choice of styles and trends such as fur, which was critized by animal activists.

She has an impressive resume’ as a fashion journalist and is respected by many. Her influence extends outside of fashion. She also has her influence in other areas such as persuading Donald Trump to let Marc Jacobs use a ballroom at the Plaza Hotel for a show when Jacobs and his business partner were not financially stable to do so. She has encouraged Christian Dior to hire younger, fresher designers which can cater to the young generation of our era.

Even though there are complaints about her role as a powerful fashion decision maker, it has been dismissed by those who are familiar with how she actually exercises that right. “She’s honest. She tells you what she thinks. Yes is yes and no is no”, said Karl Lagerfeld, a German fashion designer. “She’s not too pushy” agrees Francois-Henri Pinault, chief executive officer of PPR, Gucci’s parent company.

Because of her powerful position, her wardrobe is always subjected to being scrutinized and imitated. It has been said that industry publicists often hear, “Do you want me to go to Anna with this”? Let’s face it, she is a fashion genius and one of the most successful editor-in-chief who has embrased fashion with extreme creativity and was able to share it with the world.
