Who Wore It Better: Tom Ford

21 May

So Tom Ford is one of my fave designers along with Miss Coco Chanel of course….. Mr. Ford is always innovative, fashion forward and CURRENT….. Meaning his fashion is always ahead of time and ever-present…. It was a war of the lace dress as stars Emma Stone, Lay Gaga and Joan Small had a showdown of who wore it better…. I personally feel that Emma Stone stole the show but that is me… I want you guys to weigh in on this debate…

Naomi Yasuda, a Master of Her Craft..

18 Mar

So if you are into nail design then you are familiar with the name “Naomi Yasuda“… If not let me introduce you to this mater at her craft. Naomi is most known for her elaborate nail designs on Lady Gaga… However she has also boasts a client list that will make most nail techs green with envy!!! Some of her celebrity cliental include Alicia Keys, Kelly Osbourne, Lindsey Lohan, and Amber Rose to name a few. The list can go on and on of celebrity clients and not to mention editorial clients and press. Naomi is definitely in a league of her own. She hails from her native Japan where she studied at Chunichi Beauty College and honed her skills. She later came to New York  and set the nail scene on fire. Her designs are definitely bold, creative and not for the shy at heart… Please check out her website http://naomiyasudanyc.com/index.html. I am sure you will at least appreciate her creative designs and extricate details!

The Wonderful World Of Gaga…

4 Dec

Lady Gaga has done it again with the release of her “Holiday Workshop” exclusively at Barney’s. There is an array of artistic finds including treats, cosmetics, accessories, apparel, jewelry and even toys. Everything is outfitted with that Gaga flare!!!! The price range is moderate to extreme it is after all a teaming up of Lady Gaga and Barney’s so please be prepared to bring your wallet.  My fave is a teacup set which has two variations. One styled by A-Morir by Kerin Rose and one designed by Lady Gaga price ranging from $65.00 for Gaga’s Workshop X version and $695 for A-Morir… That is one expensive cup of tea honey, but the design elements are uncanny and so chic. Check out Barney’s website and see all that Lady Gaga has to offer.

The Man Behind The Designs…..

12 Jun

I rarely get lazy days but when I do I like to catch up on my TV watching…. I was laying on my couch waiting “This is It”…. The last moments of Micheal Jackson life has he prepared for a concert of a lifetime. There was so much thought put into every meticulous detail of that concert. I am dis-heartened that it never came to pass because I am sure it would be the most talked about event ever! MJ was a genius in everything that he did. He was truly an Icon is both music and  fashion and will be greatly missed!

As I watched in such awe they introduced his costume designer “Zaldy”. When I saw the sketches and creations that Zaldy created, I was completely memorized! I mean his work is amazing to say the least. It peaked my interest to discover who exactly is Zaldy….

Zaldy Goco is a clothing designer who began his career as a model for the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Paul Gaultier. He was trained at fashion’s top prestigious School’s Parsons University and my alma mater Fashion institute of Technology.  He was the visionary behind Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B but made his mark as the costume designer behind Micheal Jackson’s “This is it” tour and Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball” tour. His work is intricate, detailed and simply breath-taking. Keep your eyes on him I wouldn’t be surprised if he is raised to the level of fashion hierarchy.

Stylish Innovation ….

Always the business woman Lady Gaga always finds ways to keep herself relevant, fashion forward and on top of her game. No matter what the naysayers may feel or say you must respect Gaga’s hustle. Lady Gaga has teamed up with Polaroid creating a Grey Line which will include GL20 camera glasses, GL10 portable printer and GL30 digital camera. I am super excited about the GL20 glasses they will have  a built-in camera and dual LCD screens that display photos or videos on the outer side of the lens.  The photos and videos can be uploaded to a USB drive, which is located in an earpiece or the images and video can be sent to other devices via Bluetooth.  Everything Gaga touches becomes gold so I am sure this new partnership with Polaroid will be no exception. Fans can expect to snag something up as early as April of this year when the GL10 portable printer will be released.  As Lady Gaga stated this is definitely a merger between fashion and technology…
