All That Blings…

2 Apr

I am obsessed with getting my nails done!!! It’s one of the easiest ways to put a smile on my face. But I am a stickler for quality and perfectionism. I am loving all these nail techs but one of my favorites is Ms.Tina. She hails from Florida and her work is beyond impeccable. Some try to duplicate it but they can’t!!! I am obsessed with her designs and overall creative edge. Take a look at her designs and let me know what you think; also you can contact her on Instagram at “nailsbymztina”.

Get The Look: Ma Cherie Amour….

1 Oct

There are times I like to get dressed with a theme in mind… Everyone needs a little inspiration in life. Do you agree? This look is inspired by the beautiful yet delicate mix of vibrant edgy purple, subdued with the complexity of a paley peach. Notice Kelis bold eye color, paired with a spicy, edgy hair cut and a kissable nude lip. The make-up and hair is a perfect compliment to the outfit.  The look is a beautiful lace dress, paired with a nutmeg boyfriend blazer and ankle bootie. The bold satchel in a pastel purple adds a little POP to the outfit. Since the make-up and hair is bold I say pair it with a beautiful cocktail ring and simple chic earring. My Favorites: Make-up Must Have!

23 Sep

Flawless makeup is the first step in having what I call a great first impression. Maybe it’s a night out on the town, a family dinner or any spectacular event for that matter. One does not need a huge makeup collection, however, a few of my favorite items will have you on your way to achieving a flawless look. What’s not to love about my favorite beauty items…absolutely nothing, I am a makeup fanatic! Hey, I am no Oprah but below I have showcased a variety of my favorite things for your beauty pleasure. Now go out and have a shopping spree. Enjoy!

Primer: Applying a primer gives you a smooth finish by minimizing pores and fine lines before you apply the foundation. It perfects for those with slightly oily skin or combination skin.  It also protects the skin against UVA and UVB rays. My favorite is the makeup forever primer which can be purchased at Sephora.

Foundation: Must be chosen according to your skin type whether dry, combination or oily. Personally, I have quite a few different foundations, some of which I mix and others which I don’t. Another important factor when choosing makeup is the occasion in which you are attending and whether you will be wearing it out at night or during the day. Below are some of my favorite foundations which can be purchased at a variety of retail stores such as Lorac (website), Sephora (store), or MAC. They all provide a flawless finish.

Eyeliner- Eyeliner is also important in terms of maximizing your eyes. I personally prefer the eyeliner by lorac. It gives my eyes a radiant look with just one line. It can be purchased from lorac’s website or any retailer which carries the brand

Eyeshadow- Eyeshadow makes your eyes prominent and can be coordinated to match your outfit or even your hair color. I have a variety of brands that I use. Choosing a brand which have colors that are pigmented is important. Who wants to wear yellow eyeshadow that looks pink? Not me…I have a variety of brands that I use but let’s check out my favorite below. I personally own this kit by NYX and I absolutely love it. It has all the colors you can think of and can be purchased directly on their website.

Mascara- Mascara gives you lengthy lashes that every woman desires. It also gives your lashes a prominent look with the combination of a great liner.  The brand is by smashbox and can be purchased at a variety of retailers such as Sephora. I love the fact that it’s 2 mascara in one.

Lip gloss/Lipstick- The finishing touch to a flawless look is to apply the perfect lip gloss or lipstick. Hey, if you’re a creative risk taker you can even mix the perfect combination with the right colors. Below are some of my favorites which can be purchased at a variety of retailers as mentioned in this post.

Best Makeup To Match Hair Color!

2 Sep

Finding the right make-up to match your hair will ultimately give you a complete balanced look. Hair color and makeup combinations go a long way in terms of achieving a overall stunning look. If you want a striking look, your makeup must compliment your hair color to bring out your best features. Never be unsure of the right makeup hues to sport with your hair color. Learn how to match your makeup and hair; no matter if you have brunette, blonde, red or auburn colored hair.

Brunette- Having dark hair and bold lips usually calls for playing down the eye color for an even look. Dark hair can handle brighter makeup and still look fresh.

1. Brunette eyebrow

2. Red lip liner to keep lips fresh all day

3. Red lipstick for bright and bold lips

4. Sparkle neutral eyeshadow

Blonde- It’s easy to go overboard on makeup with blonde hair. Substituting blush for rosy cheeks and bronzer will avoid a washed out look. Draw attention to your eyes with neutral shadows and liners. Matching eyebrow and hair color will make or break your look.

1. Neutral eyeshadow and dark liner

2. Pale pink lipstick

3. Black mascara

4. Soft blonde eyebrow color

Red- This color hair calls for deep color in the eyes and neutral colors for a subtle look.

1. Creamy lip liner for the lips

2. A splash of color for the eyes blends well with red hair

3. Natural color palette with a little shimmer for the eyes

4. Neutral matte lipstick and a little gloss for a balanced look

5. Rose blush to brighten cheeks

Auburn- Adding both soft color and allowing the eyes to be on the darker side really shows up the hair color for a balanced look

1. Highlight natural skin tone with tinted moisturizer or primer

2. A smokey eye is the perfect combination for auburn hair

3. Soft pink lips for a toned look

4. Cream blush for cheeks
