Quench That Thirst

After talking about all of this delicious food from week to week, I think that it is time for us to have a drink.  I have a few tropical drink recipes to share with you.  So I am not going to keep you waiting too long.  I hope you enjoy!

Mango Drink

4 Large ripe mangoes

½ cup evaporated milk

½ cup of granulated sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

16 cubes of ice

10 oz. club soda

 

Directions

  • Wash, peel and cut mangoes into small cubes
  • Place mangoes, milk, sugar, vanilla, and ice cubes in blender.
  • Blend on low speed until ice cubes are crushed; increase speed and process for a few seconds.
  • Chill, add club soda and serve.

 

 

Ginger Beer


1 lb Ginger

8 cups of water

1 lime (peeled and juiced)

4 cups of granulated sugar

1 cinnamon Stick

 

Directions

  • Wash, remove skin and grate ginger
  • Place in a large bottle with about 8 cups of water and juice and peel of 1 lime
  • Leave in the sun for 1 day, next day, drain, and sweeten
  • Pour in clean bottles and place in refrigerator
  • Allow to settle for 2 days.
  • If too strong dilute with club soda or water.

 

 

Tropical Fruit Punch

3 cups orange juice

3 cups pineapple juice

3 cups grapefruit juice

¼ cup lime or lemon juice

½ cup honey (or to taste)

½ -1 cup rum or white wine

1 cup finely chopped pineapple

½ – 1 cup small melon cubes or balls

Lime or orange slices

 

Directions

  • Combine orange, pineapple, grapefruit, and lime juice.
  • Sweeten to taste with honey and chill for a few hours.
  • Just before serving, stir in rum, chopped pineapple and melon balls.
  • Garnish with lime or orange slices.
  • Serve with crushed ice.

    I’m going to try the fruit punch….I have never seen ginger beer look so good…I’m use to drinking it out of a big ass mug…lol

      Cece I agree the drinks look delicious…. Hmmmm tell us how the Fruit Punch comes out!!!!
