Misconstrued Brillance

Alexander McQueen

The name Alexander McQueen can mean many things to many people depending upon how you saw him and his work…  Some will call him an Innovator, others will say Renegade! One thing that is most definitely associated with McQueen names is “Artist”. I personally feel that McQueen was mis-understood by many… McQueen was a Couturier, he created Haute Couture

Many people do not understand or appreciate Haute Couture but McQueen did. Haute Couture is not Juicy Couture! Wikipedia defined Haute couture as exclusive custom fitted clothing that  is made to order for a specific customer, and it is usually made from high-quality, expensive fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable seamstresses, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques.

For those of you who might not know of Alexander Mc Queen he was a British Fashion Designer who was known for his edgy and sometimes dark, erotic fashion. McQueen’s runway shows were always over the top, whimsical  and pushing the envelope between designer and artist. MET museum  will have an exhibition on the late McQueen’s work beginning May 4-July 31. The exhibition is titled “Alexander McQueen:Savage Beauty“. I can sit here and give you facts about McQueen and his work but I rather you search it out yourself… I think then you will understand and appreciate McQueen’s contribution to fashion. I challenge you all to go and see his exhibition at MET, McQueen was a young man with so much talent that died young… McQueen met his demise at age 40, his legacy will forever live on through his works of art and his contributions made through Fashion.

All Hail McQueen……..
